EU supported Project in partnership with BHEL, Trichy, on Developing a Cluster for Clean Coal Technologies and Carbon Capture and Storage Technologies for the Indian Thermal Power Sector

Bio Mass Co-firing Technologies for Coal based power plants in India and also

TREC STEP has worked with Trichy Machining and Fabrication Cluster under the UNIDO DST Sponsored Cluster Development Programme. Over 350 companies catering to the Energy sector, situated in Trichy, were involved. This has been a model project bringing many new insights and envisioning exercises, Energy audits, improved logistics, etc, to benefit the Cluster actors. As a project strategy, the cluster players took over the project reigns and have now emerged as a major, proactive cluster in the country, bringing more support from the Government and boosting the private sector growth. Technology Development project for Indian Railways, for converting the coal fired system of the Steam Locomotives of the Nilgiri Mountain Railway, into oil fired systems and ensuring the preservation and continuance of the heritage mountain steam engines system.
